We were hacking whatever technology we could find at the same time Bill Gates was chewing his pacifier and Linus was not yet a gleam in anyone’s eye. When you have been dealing with widgets and gadgets that long, you one day discover that a lot of disciplines are remarkably similar, and what you know applies to far more than technology.
